About Us
The annual Summer Thunder Cruise-In is brought to you by the Western Loudoun
Community Volunteers, a non-profit organization working to benefit
children’s charities and the local community in Since 2003, Summer Thunder Cruise-In has raised funds to help support the educational efforts of its schools by purchasing equipment for C. S. Monroe Technology’s Automotive Program as well as providing scholarships to deserving students. In 2008, Summer Thunder Cruise-In proudly raised funds for the Victory Junction Gang Camp, serving campers with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses ranging from 7 to 15 years old. The summer programs are week-long sessions, each attended by up to 125 children with similar medical conditions. The Victory Junction Gang will benefit from the proceeds of future Summer Thunder Cruise-Ins! The Victory Junction Gang Camp is a summer camp, Disneyland, and a box of crayons mixed in a blender, and a special retreat for children with arthritis, asthma, autism, blind, burn survivors, cancer, craniofacial anomalies, deaf, diabetes, Down Syndrome, epilepsy, gastro-intestinal diseases, heart disease, immunology deficiencies/HIV, kidney disease, liver disease, neurological disease, physical disabilities, sickle cell anemia, skin disease, spina bifida, transverse myelitis (TMA), and ventilator dependent campers. The children who attend Victory Junction would not otherwise be able to attend summer camp due to their medical needs. Thanks to the generous donations of nearly 30,000 corporations, individuals and foundations, no child or family pays to attend camp. That’s why the Summer Thunder Cruise-In is proud to involve itself with sending proceeds of its event to enable Victory Junction to continue its work and to provide special children the unforgettable Victory Junction Camp experience.
